The event season just started for Clave! After delivering smooth payment experiences at Devconnect Istanbul and ETHDenver, our next stop was Dappcon Berlin and ETHBerlin. 

Clave was the Smoothie Bar sponsor of Dappcon Berlin this year, which took place between 21 and 23 May 2024. We delivered fresh and delicious smoothies to attendees and provided an opportunity to purchase them with only one click! The event was just another opportunity to showcase Clave’s capabilities as a smart payment app, meet new fellows, and see old friends in the ecosystem.

As a smoothie vendor this year at Dappcon Berlin, we offered four different smoothies:

  1. Secure on the Beach: This refreshing smoothie is made for those who prioritize security. Clave to protect you from malicious attacks from germs and hacks!
  2. Zero Smoofee: This smoothie was totally free—just like transaction fees in Clave! Attendees loved our gasless onchain experience and the healthy spinach smoothie at the same time!
  3. One Clickie: Ordering this smoothie took only one step, just like using Clave! Attendees created their Clave accounts with one click and then easily ordered their smoothies in the app. 
  4. Selfhie: This smoothie is perfect for those who value being their own bank through self-custody. We also added a bit of gamification for this one. Anyone who took a selfie with it received a Clave t-shirt from our booth, along with some cool stickers!

What Did We Achieve in Berlin?

  • 280+ Dappcon Attendees were onboarded to Clave with one click and ordered their smoothies. 🥤
  • A total of 550+ smoothies were ordered with Clave. 🔥
  • Total $0 amount of gas fee paid by users since Clave sponsors all transactions. :) ⛽️

We successfully onboarded hundreds of users to Clave using only Passkeys; they simply used their biometric authentication — no need for emails, passwords, or seed phrases. The account creation was instant with just one click. After this quick setup, attendees used Clave to order smoothies, showed the success screen to the vendors, and that was it! The smoothie bar was the most refreshing experience we've offered yet — after spices at Bazaar and awesome merch in Denver, but still, it was as easy as the beginning. :)

Attendees enjoyed their friends' company under Berlin's warm sun at the Radialsystem garden, and the delicious smoothies were their perfect companions, seamlessly demonstrating the efficiency of smart wallets for payments.

What Will We Ship in the Near Future?

Dappcon Berlin was not only an event that we sponsored but also beneficial since we joined many interesting conversations around smart wallets, ERC-4337, and crypto debit cards. We also attended ETHBerlin afterward and met amazing people there to enhance our perspective on building the payment app of the future. 

  1. Feedback Evaluation: Following the valuable feedback from our community and event attendees, we initiated internal development improvements. New features enhancing the user experience are on the horizon! 🔥
  2. Providing More Experience: We’re heading to ETHPrague, ETHBelgrade, and EthCC next! Our co-founder Ulaş Erdoğan will judge the hackathon at ETHPrague, while our marketer Zeynep Ecenaz Altınok will attend ETHBelgrade to build new connections and enhance the zkSync ecosystem experience.   3. Enabling Crypto Payments & On/Off Ramp Solutions: We are committed to making crypto payments more accessible globally. To this end, we aim to extend our feature set to provide these options with the best user experience in Web3. Look out for more announcements in the future!
